THE RECEIPIENT OF NATIONAL AWARD HEADMASTER AND SOCIAL WORKER
Hajee S. Abdul Kader M.A., B.Ed., formerly Headmaster of pallivasal Higher Secondary School, Mudukulathur, Ramanathapuram. (District), Tamilnadu has rendered 33 years of distinguished service as a dedicated teacher and an able Headmaster.
He has served a secretary of HIMATHUL ISLAM YOUNGMEN’S SOCIETY, MUDUKULATHUR for 20 Years. He has organized a lot of Meeladi-Un-Nabi functions and religious meetings. He is very religious and pious. He is a good orator and renowned social philanthropist and has contributed and is contributing much to the education of the poor Muslims. He gives liberally to the poor and the needy among the Muslims. He Occupies a unique position in community and is held in very high esteem by the public.
He has been adjudged as BEST TEACHER by the government of India. He was honoured by the president of India on 05.09.1991 at New Delhi. He has dedicated himself whole heartily to the all-round development of the pupils and institution. He was responsible for the up-gradation of the school from middle to the Higher secondary level which is under the control of the local Muslim Jamath.
He served the institution and the community with rare sense of devotion to duty and achieved remarkable distinction. The Government of Tamilnadu had already awarded him the best Teacher State Award in 1974-75 commending his service as the Best Teacher. It is very rare occasion and every Muslim should feel proud of this honour being presented to our brethren.

The noblest of professions, but the sorriest of traders may be a trite saying as far as the teaching profession is concerned. There have been teachers who have cornered a niche of excellence and integrity for themselves in the field of education during their tenure of office. Some also carry on their dedication to duty even in retirement, espousing the cause of their fellow pensioners with full-fledged enthusiasm and humanitarian out look and also devoted his time for the growth and development of industries in this backward area of Mudukulathur.
Hajee. S. ABDUL KADER M.A., B.Ed., a National Best Teacher Awardee retired Headmaster 75 years old pensioners is such a person. He leads a life of a simple true Musalman, following the footsteps of Prophet Mohammed in every walk of his life.
SOCIAL SERVICE :
Born on18-018-1932 in Mudukulathur, Ramanathapuram District, the notable most backward area, he domiciled in Mudukulathur at the age of 25 as a Secondary grade teacher in an aided school. Soon he became the Headmaster of the school by dint of his professional caliber and exemplary characters.
He troad the path of the great teachers of the land with a national out look and patriotic endeavor. He took part in teachers organizations and the teachers guild of his times. As a president of the teachers guild he conducted school improvement conference on 02-01-1979 and procured essential articles for the basic needs of the schools. He also convened a function for the National Defense Fund and collected enormous amount of money and Jewels for the same on 06-02-1966.
Literary, People Awareness, National Festivities and in such meetings and conferences he took part an active role and he imbibed social awareness, patriotism among the public. He has actively participated in all kinds of social meetings irrespective of caste, creed, community and religious differences.
Hajee. S. ABDUL KADER has been the key resource person of the literacy campaign during the year 1992-93. He visited all the village of the Ramanathapuram District, particularly of Mudukulathur area, though these villages were very remote and taught to the illiterate people to read and write. He took strenuous efforts to enlighten them.
Hajee. S. ABDUL KADER was assigned the presidentship of Mudukulathur Union Science Forum and also the Vice-Presidentship of Ramanathapuram District of the same from the year 1994. He spread scientific ideas among the common people and removed superstitious beliefs from their minds.
His retirement in 1992 from the post of a Hr. Sec. School Headmaster brought him closer to the pensioner’s cause and he is the elected president of ‘All pensioners’ welfare Association of Mudukulathur Taluk. Also he is the executive member of the District pensioners Association and he is serving in their cause and his agility and alacrity in tacking their problems is unique. He helps them to get remedy for their grievances. By his endeavor a building at a cost of 4 Lakhs has been completed for the welfare of pensioners of Mudukulathur Taluk.
He has started an orphanage at Mudukulathur from 1993, by name Rahmaniya Orphanage for the children who have lost either one of their parents are admitted into the orphanage. They are provided with free meals, dress, shelter and schools books, special tuition and supervised studies out of school hours have been organized for them. His ultimate aim has been to induct fresh blood at the cross root level. Moreover in applauding and praising his perpetual enthusiasm and hard work in the sector of a social and national service, The open university of Colombo honoured him by endowing a Honorary Doctorate Degree in December 1996.
COMMUNITY SERVICE

He had been the executive member of the administrative body of Mudukulathur Big Mosque Jamath. He had played a key role in building a new mosque and other amenities.
He has instituted a charitable Trust. Through this Trust, he endows help not only to Muslims but to the deserving people of all communities. He is also trying to establish educational and other social development institutions for the welfare of all communities.

After completing his S.S.L.C and T.T.C. Hajee S. ABDUL KADER started his carrier as an Elementary School Headmaster in 1957, Then he joined pallivasal Middle school as a secondary grade assistant. He was promoted as headmaster of the middle school over looking seniority because of his professional competence, rare merit and the high esteem in which he was held by the community. He raised his educational qualifications by his private studies and obtained his two degrees B.A., and B.Ed., He felt that Mudukulathur area lacked in secondary education facilities and through his strenuous effort converted the middle school into high school in the year 1978 and he was again elevated to the post of the headmaster of the High school. He did not remain content with these achievements. He obtained his P.G. Degree M.A., he further tried and up graded the High school into Higher secondary school in the year 1988, and he again became the headmaster of the Hr. sec School. He was able to secure huge donation for construction of school buildings and provision of equipments for the school. As a result the strength of the school increased. Dropouts rate reduced. Naturally the school Final Examination results show a sharp increase.

The notable point is that he became a teacher and the headmaster to school from where he studied and carried on his student life. What is marvel is that he upgraded the middle school to high school, then from high school to Hr. Sec. School. He is a self made man, because he rose from a position of an ordinary secondary grade teacher to P.G. teacher. He had been the head master of the primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools. What causing great surprise is that an ordinary teacher was able to be the headmaster of primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools at appropriate phases of times. This is indeed a rare phenomenon.
Since he served the institution and community with a rare sense of devotion to duty and archieved remarkable distinction, the state government honoured him with “The Best Teacher Award” in 1974-75. through the state Governor and later in 1990, The president of India presented the “ National Best Teacher Award” and citation to him as a worthy teacher and humanitarian dedicated for the cause of education and service to community.
The chief Educational officer of Ramanathapuram District presented to him cash award on two occasions for the higher enrollment of S.C. Girls students, one on 07-04-1986 and the other on 22-11-1968. For his devoted service in the literacy campaign the District Collector of Ramanathapuram has given a testimonial praising his work.
HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO TECHNICAL AND INDUTRIAL DEVELOPMENT
His contribution to this category is laudable. Generally our Ramanathapuram District is educationally, economically and industrially backward area. It is prone to feminine, Mudukulathur, a Taluk in the Ramanathapuram District is very backward in all respects and due to the frequent failure of rain, many people are rendered jobless as they are mostly farmers. They have to migrate to other districts to eke out their living. Industrial units are a necessity and very essential to the people of this area. Keeping this idea in his mind. Hajee. S. ABDUL KADER is striving to establish industrial institutions after retirement. He wanted to give a concrete shape to his idea.
He formed a Trust “ Naina Mohamed Kadermmal Trust” by name with kind co-operation and assistance extended by his relatives, he collected an amount and purchased a land site for the construction of an I.T.I He sent application for starting the year 1995. As per the directions given by the Government, he completed all the infrastructures facilities, procured all the articles, materials and machines as stipulated by the Government rules. He got recognition from

the government to run the institution from the month of August 1995. Electrician, Fitter, and wireman trades have been instituted here.
Students belonging to the SC and other backward classes are enthusiastically joining the institution. Basic amenities have been provided with quite satisfactorically. Cost of training is viable even to poor Students. As a symbol of the development of the institute its “First Anniversary” was celebrated on 07-07-1996 in a grand manner. The M.L.A. and the leader of opposition legislature party Thiru. S. BALA KRISHNAN B.A., delivered a lecture praising the efforts of Hajee. S. Dr. Hajee S.Abdul Kadir is a self-made man. He knows to be the Headmaster of Prestigious Pallivasal Higher secondary School, Mudukulathur from the ranks of an Ordinary secondary grade teacher. He started as a primary School teacher and later joined Pallivasal middle School as a Secondary Grade Assistant. He was promoted as Headmaster of the middle school overlooking seniority because of his professional competance, rare merit and the high esteem in which he was held by the community.
He was elected as the General Secretary of the range Teacher's Associations because of the leadership qualities. He was instrumental in developing all the schools in the area by helping to organize school improvement conference. For his the valuable contribution for the development and improvement of primary education in the backward Mudukulathur area he was awarded the State Award for the year 1974-75.
He felt that Mudukulathur area backed in secondary education facilities and through his strenuous efforts converted the middle School into High School. He was able to secure huge donation for construction of buildings and provision of equipments for the school. He did not remain content with his achievements. He further tried and upgraded the High school into Higher Secondary School.
He is an able and efficient teacher. He is a good administrator. His leadership qualities deserve special mention. He occupies a unique position in community and is held in a very high esteem by the public. He is a good disciplinarian and does not compromise when questions of discipline are involved. He is very sympathetic and kind to the poor and down-trodden. He helps them and gets help from them through his influence.
He is very religious and pious. His professional growth is synonymous with the growth of the institution he serves. It has been a rare privilege for him to be a student, later a teacher and then headmaster of the middle school, High school and finally higher secondary school. He serves the institution and the community with a rare sense of devotion to duty and achieved remarkable distinction.
